Oct 19, 2016 · The 70s Artiste seems similar to the late 70s "club n country" -- kind of an attempt at a Marshall for clean players. The later 80s Artist amps were solid state preamp with el34 power section. I've owned examples of both -- both good, but definitely not traditional Marshall territory.

Oct 11, 2016 · Hi, I've been searching for a reverb tank for my Artiste head, 1972 vintage. Head is model 2048. I was under the impression the Accutronics model was the 4DB2C1D, which implies a 250 ohm input. Yours would be a 1475 ohm input. I tried other reverb tanks with 8 and 250 ohms in, and neither gave much reverb. So I'm assuming yours is the right one!
