Jul 19, 2018 · Shortt worked as a wood engraver before becoming the Artist-Technician for the Manitoba Museum, where he was responsible for bird and mammal displays. The artist was an active writer and member of the American Ornithologists' Union, and maintained close ties to Ducks Unlimited in both Canada and the U.S, which awarded him the 1981-82 Art Award for his work.
