Adam Frew graduated from the University of Ulster, Belfast in 2004 with a BA Hons in Fine and Applied Arts (Ceramics). He undertook an apprenticeship with the renowned ceramic artist Judy Makela from 2002-2003, and Lisa Hammond between 2002 and 2006. He is currently artist-in-residence at the Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart, Co. Derry.

Potter Adam Frew is based near the north coast of Northern Ireland. His expressive ceramics are inspired by cooking and eating, and coastal and rural landscapes. The work I make loosely falls into two main areas, functional pots and large pots. I enjoy the rhythm of making functional pots, working quickly in order to create small batches.
