About the Artist. Adolph Bitanny Dodge was born in 1911 at Wheatfield, Arizona in the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona. He was the grandson of Henry Chee Dodge who was the last head chief of the Navajo Nation, and their first elected Tribal Chairman. While at Bacone Junior College Dodge was given the nickname "Adee" in respect to his initials, by his teachers.
