Afruz Amighi Biography. Afruz Amighi was born in Tehran, Iran in 1974. She is a Brooklyn-based artist. Amighi's upbringing infuses her work with global awareness and a distanced view of her native country's turmoil. She has exhibited her work internationally and in 2008 was awarded the Jameel Prize by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
