American blues and soul singer, born August 8, 1926 in Monroe, Louisiana, died January 22, 1999 in Oakland, California. Moved to Los Angeles, working outside music in 1947. First recording in 1951, then released singles with regular intervals until 1970. Thereafter worked mainly outside of music, with a CD on Forevermore in c. 1998.
