Alberto and his two brothers were artists, part of the Generación del 13, the generation of 1913. Alfredo is the best known of the three. They were from Rancagua, to the south of Santiago and all three died young. I have found two different dates of death for Alberto, 1925 and 1941, but both are before your father purchased the paintings.
