Item for sale is a mid 90's Alvarez Bluesman, model 5055. Mahogany back, sides and neck; flat spruce top with F holes, rosewood fretboard, bridge and peghead face. I can tell the top is laminate so the back and sides may be as well. It plays nicely and has a balanced tone.

This guitar has a pickup and a strap, with good, easy to play, low action and a classic blues sound from the laminated back and sides and top. No significant marks just one small scratch on the lower bout and the usual patina from being played.

Jan 26, 2015 · The 5055 model, known as the Alvarez Maple Super Jumbo, was made with all laminates, the top white spruce with inlaid celluloid rings around the sound hole, and white celluloid bound edges. Back of flame grained curly maple (2 piece), with multi-colored wood inlay center strip. Sides are flame grained maple.
