Amer Kobaslija. Originally from Banjaluka in Bosnia, Amer Kobaslija (b. 1975) fled his war-ravaged homeland in 1993, and arrived in refugee camps in Nuremberg, Germany. Later, he traveled to Düsseldorf, where he attended the Kunst Akademie. In 1997, Kobaslija was offered asylum by the United States and immigrated to Jacksonville, Florida.

Bosnian artist Amer Kobaslija of Jacksonville was feted royally last Saturday evening at the elegant, art-filled Ponte Vedra home of Sherry and Jerry Chait. Jun 05, 2019 · Amer Kobaslija was born in Banja Luka, Bosnia, in 1975; with the outbreak of the Bosnian War in 1993, he escaped to Germany, eventually settling with his family in Florida in 1997. He earned his BFA from Ringling College of Art, FL in 2003 and his MFA from Montclair State University, NJ in 2005.

Amer Kobaslija. This exhibition features small- to large-scale painted representations of artist studios on Plexiglas and wooden panels. Among them are the artist’s own studio, those of friends, as well as those of famous artists Balthus and Jackson Pollock. The unique perspective featured in the paintings gives the viewer a kind of fly-on-the-ceiling, panoramic viewpoint of these very personal spaces.
