Jul 14, 2019 · Delray Beach fiber artist Amy Gross creates nature-like works that are deceptively realistic. At first glance, Amy Gross’ work looks like a tangle of moss, leaves and other forest finds. But a closer inspection reveals acrylic yarn masquerading as moss, printed fabric posing as leaves and beads pretending to be spores.
Boston artist Amy Ross uses watercolor, collage, ink, graphite, and charcoal to portray hybrid creatures, or "nature morphs." She combines animals, humans, mushrooms, flowers, and shells together to create new, fantastical beings. She also draws oversized animal portraits focusing on their gaze.
