Born in 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, Ana Lisa Hedstrom is a fiber artist known for her adaptation of traditional Japanese shibori dyeing techniques. Hedstrom began her studies at Mills College in Oakland, California, focused on ceramics. After completing her BA in 1965, Hedstrom traveled to Japan to continue pursuing ceramics at Kyoto Art College.
