André Devambez was a painter and an illustrator of children’s books. He was born in Paris in 1867 and passed away in 1944. He learned the art of engraving from a very young age, by working primarily with his father, Édouard Devambez, a famous French engraver and founder of Maison Dévambez, a fine printing business in Paris.
