Angela Bentley. My work as a textile artist combines Free Machine Embroidery with Hand Stitching. I use fabrics with different textures to create interesting surfaces on which to stitch. Gardens and Landscapes are a great source of inspiration to me, however my main inspiration is Architecture.

No other textile artist uses colour in the way that she does. Her woven tapestries are a riot of vibrant colour combinations that are a delight to the eye and the senses. Angela studied woven textiles at NCAD and in the early 1980s set up a successful weaving studio in Dublin.

Welcome! As a textile artist I love to work with color and texture. It fills me with such joy! I also love different types of design – modern, romantic etc. That keeps me inspired. Please contact me if you would like to talk about a commission. Especially using your favourite old shirt or your grandmother’s doilies!
