Ann Robinson is a leading exponent of the lost-wax glass casting process, which begins with a cast taken from a wax model. Robinson gained a diploma in fine arts at the University of Auckland in 1980 and worked at Sunbeam Glassworks until 1989. During her time at Sunbeam she became a proficient glassblower but started to work on the glass casting that would later make her name in the art world.
