Anna Seeber Shaw was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma. From ages 2-5, she lived in Tripoli, Libya, where her father worked as a geologist. They came back to El Dorado, KS where she spent her youth, and Anna graduated from El Dorado High School. Shaw went on to attend Fort Hays State University, obtaining her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1978.
