Nov 16, 2017 · This should be simple to manually change as when viewing by Artist in list view, selecting the artist name and then right-clicking and selecting 'Artist Info' it should bring up a dialog about the artist and allow adding a photo or other info but instead it brings up the same dialog as if you selected all tracks of that artist:

Sep 14, 2016 · After some digging around, I found out that the artist photo only shows up if you've purchased an album from that artist from the Apple Music store. So in order for our library to not look like garbage, the music needs to come from Apple.

Sep 07, 2017 · There is no rhyme nor reason that some purchased iTunes music and some imported music have Artist avatars, but the majority of iTunes purchases do not have avatars. I am running iTunes 12.6.2.20 on macOS Sierra v10.10.6.

It's true that the Artist picture (when iTunes actually posts it) comes from the artist's bio, but that doesn't mean it will show up. Take a look at these two photos. The one on the left side shows the microphone where Alice Cooper's photo should be. The one on the right shows Alice Cooper's bio page where there IS a photo in place.
