Feb 20, 2015 · Arthur Craven painted countryside scenes, mainly from around the Wharfe and Aire Valleys. He was born in Sutton-in-Craven and lived in the Keighley area, near Haworth. The Haworth landscapes and buildings often featured in his work. He studied at Keighley Art College for three years, but later gained qualifications in motor mechanics and worked at a local garage.

Artist Arthur Craven. The family of a well known, “larger-than-life” artist are hoping to put together a posthumous exhibition of his work to honour his life. Arthur Craven died in Steeton Court Nursing Home on March 11 after a short illness. He was 78.
