Artist Bio. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Diana González Gandolfi traveled widely while growing up, living in Colombia and Indonesia before settling with her family in New York City in 1965. Her abstract paintings and prints are heavily influenced by these early experiences and focus on themes such as place, identity and memory. Diane Gonzalez Gandolfi – Artist Statement. ARTIST STATEMENT The work selected for this exhibition is part of the “Linked Legacies Series,” a group of encaustic prints and mixed media paintings I have been developing since 2005. Bordering between abstraction and representation, the symbolic imagery in these works makes reference to forms found in the micro and macroscopic worlds.
