"The original was made as an advertisement for the Winchester arms company. It was sent to shops all over The United States. Originally it was know as Winchester dogs but later became known as Bear Dog. It was in the John Wayne classic El dorado, after people all over wanted this piece of art in their homes.

Approximately 30" x 39" walnut frame with gold trim on the inside, and a scene of two hunting dogs in a barn by H.R. Poore. The heads of two more dogs are visible in the background, and the lower left hand corner is marked "H.R. Poore/ Philadelphia". This is a very rare original that reportedly was never copied.
