Jan Fabre is born in 1958 in Antwerp. He studied window dressing at the Municipal Institute of Decorative Arts and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. In between 1976 and 1980 Fabre wrote his first scripts for the theater and made his début performances.
