Marjorie Bates produced a large number of "topographical" scenes which were turned into framed prints by a local printing firm in Nottingham (probably W.A.Lewitt of Friar Lane, Nottingham). It is believed they were mostly produced between the two world wars. These are scenes of popular subjects from all round the UK and are often mistaken for original watercolours, pastels or drawings.
