Molly Lamb Bobak was born near Vancouver, British Columbia on February 25, 1920. She was the daughter of Alice Mary Price and art critic, Harold Mortimer Lamb. Bobak joined the Canadian Women's Army Corps (CWAC) in 1942 and was later promoted to lieutenant. She was appointed as an Official War Artist with the Canadian Army in Europe and was stationed overseas from 1945-46.
