Robert Sherer is an American artist who explores race, gender, sexuality, and Southern identity in his work. He is best known for his use of unconventional media (HIV+ blood and pyrography) and for four incidents of art censorship.

Robert Sherer studied drawing, printmaking and painting at Walker College, Atlanta College of Art, Georgia State University, and Rhode Island School of Design. He received his MFA from Edinboro University in Painting. The artist is currently an instructor at Kennesaw State University and regularly exhibits across the nation and abroad.
