When phone or tablet or when screen size is reduced, then the horizontal menu is then activated. This demo site has both horizontal and vertical menu.

To enable menu separators, please update Artisteer, open your .artx project, re-export the template and apply it to Joomla. Hi, I use Artisteer also, if you are looking to have a menu across the top of the page all you need to do is in the backend of your Joomla site go to module manager and create a new menu module and call it "top menu" or anything you want then set the position to user3 and be sure to enable it and it then should show up on your site.
