I've noticed that the 'artistic' filters are greyed out when ever I want to apply an artistic filter to an image. I used to like and use the grain filter which I think was listed in the artistic filter gallery, but that no longer is available. Has adobe discontinued artistic filters and the grain filter in particular?

Jan 03, 2012 · In fact, the answer most likely is staring us in the face, right beside the menu: Yes indeed, we are working with a file that has 16 bits per channel, clearly displayed as “RGB/16” in the caption bar of the image. This is the single most common reason for the filters to be greyed out.

Jul 10, 2013 · Everything under Artistic or Brush Strokes, or Sketch, Texture, Distort are greyed out. And that's in CS5. Some of those categories are completely missing in CS6.

Dec 07, 2010 · Any reason why I can't activate the Artistic Filter in Photoshop 6.0? I created a print with the spatter brush from a photograph that was scanned but now I'm unable to duplicate the procedure. The "Artistic Brushes" remain "greyed out" unless I turn on the quick mask which then masks the layer and leaves me unable to add the filter.

Jul 23, 2018 · If you try to sort a range of cells that are partially within a table and partially outside a table, you’ll find that the Sort and Filter options are grayed-out and unusable, even though the cells might look completely ordinary! The only way to tell for certain if a cell is contained within a Table is to click on it and look at the Ribbon.

Aug 25, 2014 · As I previously explained, right-clicking and choosing 'open', opens the form with the Filter icon (and Find icon) grayed out. Changing to form view (even though I am already in Form View), activates both icons. Double-clicking the same form, opens the form with the Filter icon (and Find icon) both active.
