Hi, I'm on photoshop CC19. I've noticed that the 'artistic' filters are greyed out when ever I want to apply an artistic filter to an image. I used to like and use the grain filter which I think was listed in the artistic filter gallery, but that no longer is available.

Dec 06, 2012 · The problem is that most of these artistic filters have not been upgraded to support 16-Bit-Per-Channel images The Filter Gallery is grayed out in Photoshop CS6 when none of the filters can be used on the open image. So, if you are processing a 16-Bit image, the Filter Gallery will be grayed out.

Jun 03, 2011 · i bought Photoshop cs5 and it worked great for a long time then some of the filters quite working. when you go to the filters drop down menu there are more expandable options like artistic blur, brush strokes, render, etc. but instead of being bold the words are a grey color and i can't click on them to expand. some of the filters work and some don't. like render i can click and have it expand ...
