Sep 15, 2017 · The majority of these do show correctly but some are showing under Various Artists rather than in the bottom compilations section. In any case, check your iTunes settings under "View/ Column Browser/ Group Compilations" and "(same)/Use Album Artists". Maybe alter those settings to see if that changes things to your liking.

I've written “Various Artists” in the Album Artist field, and ticked the Compilations box. It works fine for me in iTunes, on my iPad, iPhone, iPod nano and my ATV. So my suggestion is to try write something in the Album Artist field.

Jul 18, 2009 · Click on sorting, put a 'z' in the sort artist field, click ok. This might take a while depending on how many compilation albums you have. Now sync your iPhone to iTunes and you should find that your artist list is all tidied up! Now I don't have hundreds of artists showing up on my artist list that only have 1 song from a compilation album

Setting an album as a compilation—or not—is easy to do. Select all its tracks, then press Command-I, and click the Options tab. Choose Yes or No from the Part Of A Compilation menu, then click OK.

1 Besides the Compilation checkbox, look under the Sorting tab. The songs are probably configured with sort artist as "various artist". Clear that field for all of the tracks and they will default back to the appropriate artist value.

Jun 22, 2015 · I think the "compilation" flag instructs iTunes to group the album together rather than separating it into albums by different artists. But I believe it's primarily to cause the album to appear under the "compilations" tab on music players (iPhone/iPod/iPad).

Jan 15, 2016 · Compilations on iPhone I am new to this site-- this request probably belongs elsewhere please redirect if need be My iPhone 6 and my old ipod both show Compilations along with Artists & songs as a sort or selection option. However the songs contained in the compilations group, do not show up in the Songs group.
