About the Artist Ken Kantro. Ken Kantro settled in Lovell, Maine in 1975. Situated in the rural foothills of the White Mountains, Lovell provided the perfect setting for developing a craft and career in metalwork and design. At the outset, Ken’s primary interest was to produce pieces inspired by the work of 18th century pewterers.

About the Artist. Ken Kantro was born and raised in New York City and has called Maine his home for over thirty years. After receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees in history, Ken pursued a parallel interest in Eastern philosophy and the simple, straightforward art it inspires. An apprenticeship with a Japanese potter taught him the techniques and aesthetics of the Far East.
