Jul 22, 2013 · Artist Point is about a half mile down the Old Wawona Road, or about 1.5 miles up the road if you left from the Bridalveil Fall parking lot. We saw a bear on the way down – it’s nice to know that the road is still used by some. It ran away from us very quickly.

However, back in 1855, artist Thomas Ayres stood at Artist’s Point and drew a picture of Yosemite Valley that as was published in California Magazine.
