In November of 2006, I was fortunate to discover the life work of Fred Bevans, a self-taught wood carver. His artwork is difficult to categorize. I would call some pieces folk artand others trompe l’oeilsculpture. Presented here are photos and descriptions of 65 pieces, divided into these two categories. As you view the collection, please note that the pieces are carved entirely from wood.
