Jan 14, 2011 · My friend bought a used Bernina 180, and it came with two Serial to USB connectors. I tried the black one and it would not recognize a serial port, but the white one immediately recognized it. It is a TRENDNET TU-S9. I ordered a new one for my bernina 180, but it won't plug in, because the female little screw things are in the way.

However when I try sending the design to my Artista 180 machine I get the message that the serial port is engaged. on COM1, COM2 AND COM4, COM3 says there is no link to serial port. Any suggestion on how to get this resolved? I am using an older computer with XP software and have downloaded Version 4 of the Embroidery software.

I know we have the cable plugged in to the serial port right because there is only one way to plug it in! We plugged something else into the serial port just to see if it was working and it is. Our computer is on com3 and I am supposed to use com2 with the software (CPS V-4 and Artlink) that came with my Bernina.
