Apr 26, 2019 · Betty Brown has been a presence on the Wilmington art scene since the 1970s, yet she’s also an accomplished writer with a body of poetry and several stories that have won honors. “Pretty Much” is her first book, and it’s a delight: A memoir of a girlhood in South Carolina at the tail of the Great Depression, through the 1940s and ’50s.
