Beverly Gardner Fine Art. Artist Statement-. There is a certain level of unpredictability which comes when shooting in natural light. You never know how the colors will be, too cool, too warm, or how clear the image will work out that day. The light is forever changing. As true as that is, it’s that unpredictability which causes my eye to see the line, the shapes, the shadows which bring a life the subject I’m seeing.

Art became a way to gain acceptance from the people around her. A passion developed for the craft, along with ways to express her feelings. Beverly was different. She was Afro-American, without a family, but eventually was adopted into a white family. It resulted in her being raised in an all-white neighborhood and attending all-white schools.
