Bob Worthy was born in Illinois, but moved first to Ohio and finally to Virginia where he went to high school. After graduating high school he attended Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) where he holds an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts (BFA) and a graduate degree in Counseling (M Ed).

Bob Worthy’s paintings create a question and are often inconclusive. His blending of painting and collage is inspired by found papers, seascapes, and man-made and natural textures. Cold wax and oil paint are applied over layers of collage or an elastomeric compound resulting in a textured surface.
