Brenda Garand’s Deluge series drawings are made with india ink, walnut ink, and flood clay. The walnut ink is made by the artist. The flood clay is from Garand’s studio from tropical storm Irene. The Deluge drawings are in numerous private collection in NYC, Vermont, & elsewhere. Each drawing is unique.

The current solo show of Brenda Garand’s sculptures and ink drawings, Dartmouth Professor of Studio Art, is no exception. Garand’s wall sculptures are built with a variety of materials; thin wire, roofing material (often painted), catkins, colored silk or thread. They hang free-floating from pitchforks or metal rods she forged herself.
