About Brian. I am probably best known for my large scale metal sculpture, "The Trail Ahead..." near Jal, NM. It consists of 4 mounted cowboys and 13 cattle made from 1/4 inch steel plate. The tallest figure is almost 21 feet tall, and the entire sculpture stretches for 400 feet. It honors the ranching heritage of Jal, which was named for the cattle brand used by the founders of the JAL Ranch.
