Nov 10, 2016 · Official employment of British war artists originated at a British Propaganda Bureau called Wellington House, headed by the Liberal politician C.F.G Masterman (1873-1927). The Bureau was established at the outbreak of war to disseminate British views of the war to neutral countries, especially the US, and then extended to cover allied countries.
