Apr 26, 2015 · The Brookland Area Writers And Artists (BAWA) is a neighborhood-based arts group, founded in 2003. The purpose of the group is to promote creativity and expression in the Brookland area. BAWA hosts a monthly themed poetry reading on the first Wednesday of every month. This Wednesday, May 6th BAWA will host a tribute Brooklander Sterling Brown.
