Sep 18, 2018 · Bruno Royal Artist electric mandola Just got one of these, it has been a joy to play and get to know. Looking through threads I see a few other mentions, who else has one? It has a 16" scale, came strung with PB strings that I'll need to replace with some from emando.

Vintage Bruno & Sons Electric Mandolin Royal Artist w/OHSC 60s Really cool funky mandolin here. Looking down the neck i do see some relief. There is some travel left in the saddle adjustment for more lowering. One of the strings is missing. Im not a mandolin player but i tuned it up and it holds tune and seems to play fine. Electronics work good.End date: Aug 21, 2020

May 16, 2019 · There is an ad in the classifieds right now for a Kent 8 string long scale mando/mandola ....basically the same instrument as my Bruno Royal Artist. I cut my headstock down and turned it into a 4string. This one would be a bit harder to do the same because of the headstock inlay. If you are looking for an electric mandola....go there if the neck is straight.

Hope the Bruno company (which made acoustics in the late 1800s and early 1900s) didn't mind. The instrument below is a Bruno "Royal Artist," which appears to have a different bridge than the one pictured above. I'm told the Royal Artist is a mandola, but it may just be a long-scale mandolin, which is the case with many of these instruments.
