PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Artists in Schools supports projects that integrate community arts partners into culturally and linguistically responsive, sequential, standards-based arts learning for students in preschool through Grade 12 as part of the regular school day, and that addresses the unique circumstances of the school environment.

The California Arts Council Administrators of Color Fellowship is a partnership between the California Arts Council and the administering organization the School of Arts and Culture at the Mexican Heritage Plaza. CAC-ACF pairs 10 arts administrators of color with an equal number of arts and culture organizations dedicated to equity and community engagement for a nine- to 12- month paid fellowship.

Since 1976, the CAC has supported in-school and after-school arts programs that engage local arts organizations, teaching artists and school communities through the Artists in Schools (AIS) grant program. In its pilot year, the AIS Exposure program will expand opportunities for underserved students to experience professional art and performance.
