About the Artist. (1928-1997) Carlos Hall was born in New Mexico. He spent much time in Taos as a boy, because his great-aunt and great-uncle had a home there. Inspired at a young age by the Taos Founders, Hall began taking painting lessons at age nine. He graduated from the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell.
