(1871 – 1944) Born in Chicago, Carol Brooks MacNeil studied sculpture at the Art Institute of Chicago and assisted Lorado Taft in creating statues for the 1893 World’s Exposition. In 1895, married sculptor Herman A. MacNeil. She continued her studies in Paris under the famous sculptor Frederick MacMonnies and won awards at later expositions.

She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago under Lorado Taft and and was one of the White Rabbits who helped him on his sculptures for the Chicago Worlds Colombian Exposition of 1893. She went to Paris to study art along with MacMonnies who was also there at the same time.
