Charles Chapman is a member of the Pawnee Nation. Charles had an innate instinct for painting. He came out seemingly very good. He was one of the best oil painters by the time I met him in the late 1980's. Chapman had a ranch (probably still does) and a real feel for how to paint action. He was born on November 29, 1944, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, to tribal leader Henry Chapman and Lonie Tatum Chapman. He was a member of the Kitkehahki Band of the Pawnee Nation.
