Upon arriving in Los Angeles in the late 1960s for college, Charles Christopher Hill discovered and became part of an artistic community loosely defined as the “West Coast School.”. Among his mentors were the noted American master and Guggenheim Fellowship recipient Ed Moses, who taught Hill at UC Irvine in the 1970s and has been a “big fan” of his work ever since.
