Sep 06, 2019 · Fahd arranges her thinking based on the notion of dialogue, with several pairs or doubles in mind: image/text, author/reader, artist/curator. Fahd explains that when she looks at a photograph, she enters into an inner dialogue. It’s an act of conversion as well, a repetition that also generates.

Cherine Fahd is a photomedia artist whose work explores perceptions of identity, appearance and self-presentation through photography. She was awarded a PhD from Monash University in 2016 and is an academic at UTS, Sydney. Fahd has been practising since the mid-1990s, after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Fine Art (Hons), Sydney in 1996.
