Leo Tanguma. Leo was born in 1941, in Beeville, Texas, and worked as a child in the fields. He had to quit school in the 6th grade to help support his family. When he was 14 years old, he and his older sister moved to Pasadena,Texas outside of Houston, in search of more opportunity. Leo Tanguma served in the Army in the United States and Germany, where he painted murals.
