Artist Biography by Steve Leggett. Jeff Johnson grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and although he attended church every Sunday with his family, his place in the whole religion and Christian music thing didn't really take hold until much later when he was a junior at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, when he attended a Christian music festival in Austin, Texas.

Artist Bio. The Jeff Johnson Band began to formulate in 2003 with Jeff stepping away from his corporate job to pursue leading worship. It was at the Passion conference (1998) that the Lord revealed to Jeff that his passion was to lead worship and see people changed by the glory of God.

Jeff Johnson has been recording and releasing albums for the last 25 years. He started his own record label, Ark Music to release his own albums in 1977. He has also recorded albums for the Meadowlark and Windham Hill labels. His music embraces many styles from Celtic to contemporary instrumental to jazz to children's recordings.

Nov 14, 2016 · Jeff’s spiritually oriented, for lack of a better term, albums are thoughtful, peaceful and actually give me hope for Christian music of this type. You probably won’t hear this stuff played in the average evangelical church on a Sunday morning, it is much too thought provoking for that.
