Christopher Saucedo America, b. 1964. After Christopher Saucedo’s brother Gregory Thomas Saucedo was killed on September 11, 2001, the artist faced two natural disasters: Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans in 2005 and Hurricane Sandy in New York in 2012. In the aftermath of each of these calamities, Saucedo turned to art to help make sense of his experience.

Christopher Saucedo is an artist from Old-Brooklyn that taught sculpture at the University of New Orleans for 20 years before retiring as Chair of the Art Department in 2012. He currently divides his time between Rockaway, NY and New Orleans. Presently, Saucedo lives in two cities, having returned to New York and joined the faculty at Adelphi University where he continues to teach sculpture.
