Clementine’s works are concerned with human existence and the potential of image as flesh and figure. By using paint and print as a language, McGaw conveys the desperation, fragility and potential of humanity and the image of flesh, evoking a dialogue with the viewer about their own experience and memory within existence.

Clementine McGaw’s debut solo exhibition highlights the impact and universal suffering caused by the atrocities of war. Clementine looks to present images of the suffering of all parties involved in the fall out of war, from those participating in a literal sense, to those affected on an emotional level, perhaps if they have family or friends involved in conflict.
