Conn later revised the Artist from the ground up and made it a 32-pedal organ with conventional stop control. Conn used an independent tone generator for each note and employed special keying circuits to slow down slightly the attack of the notes, imitating the lag of a pipe organ.

I know the 716 is the SS 2 channel organ. While I love the newer Rodgers and Allen organ voices, this 716 IMO, sounds much better then my Rodgers 850 that I just sold! The Celeste is much warmer on this Conn. I've mostly associated the Conn's with theater voicing and just assumed the "classical" Conns a rebadge of theater voices to classical names.

Conn made the keyboard busbars (the contacts to turn notes on when you press a key) out of a conductive plastic, but they degrade with age and aren't made anymore. The idea was to have a more pipe-organ-like response, instead of the click you get with metal-on-metal contacts.
